We built Territory Advisor because we kept hearing the same story. The data was there. The problem was visible. But fixing it took weeks, multiple tools, and a spreadsheet nobody wanted to touch. We knew there was a better way.
Talk to enough territory managers or sales ops leads, and a pattern emerges. They know something is off. A rep has too many places to visit. Two reps are covering the same block. A whole region is barely touched. A rep resigns, and a backfill isn’t approved. They can see it in the results.
But knowing something is off and accessing the data to prove it – with specific numbers, specific territories, specific reps – are two very different things.
The process for getting those answers usually looks like this: export data from Repsly, open a spreadsheet, try to build a picture manually, maybe pull in a separate territory mapping tool, and then, after days of work, try to translate the conclusions back into Repsly. It's slow, error-prone, and most companies do it only once or twice a year because the overhead is so high.
We built Territory Advisor to collapse that process into minutes. Not by replacing the judgment of the manager, but by making sure they're never working without the data they need.
What makes it different
The single most important thing to understand about this tool is where it starts: with your existing data.
Territory Advisor is the only territory optimization tool built directly into your field execution data. It doesn't ask you to import a map or set up a new database. It looks at the reps, places, visit history, and geocoordinates you've already built up inside Repsly, and it uses that to tell you what's working, what isn't, and what to do about it.
That's a fundamentally different starting point than a standalone territory tool. Those tools require you to bring your data to them. This one already has it.
It works like a conversation
The interface is a chat. You can ask it anything using plain language.
"Which of my territories has the worst coverage?"
"If I can only make five changes right now, which ones matter most?"
"Show me everywhere two reps are overlapping."
The tool surfaces answers with actual numbers: average travel distance, workload per rep, coverage percentages, highlighted on a map, so the context is always visual.
It recommends. You decide.
When Territory Advisor identifies a problem, it doesn't automatically fix it. It tells you what it found, proposes a specific action - a rebalance, a split, a merge, or a flag that a territory may need more capacity - and shows you a before-and-after preview on the map before you commit to anything.
You can also tune how the tool thinks about your business: how much buffer a territory should carry, how evenly work should be spread across reps, how bold a recommendation is allowed to be, and how much it should penalize overlap versus disrupting a territory that's already working well.
When you're ready, you export an import file and apply the changes yourself in Repsly. The human makes the final call.
That's not a limitation – it's intentional. No surprises, no accidental changes to live territory data.
Real-world use cases
Quarterly territory review in a fraction of the time
A territory manager at a mid-size CPG company runs quarterly reviews. Previously, that meant exporting data, spending two days building a picture in Excel, presenting recommendations to leadership, and then manually applying changes. With Territory Advisor, the initial health check takes minutes. The analysis surfaces the same information, and more. The review that used to take a week now happens in an afternoon.
Catching the imbalance nobody noticed
A field operations leader suspects rep workloads are uneven, with some reps always seeming stretched, and others seeming to have capacity. But without a quantified view, it's hard to make a case for change. Territory Advisor flags territories where one rep has twice the number of places as the rep next door, and proposes a specific rebalance. For the first time, the problem isn't a feeling — it's a number.
Expanding into a new market with confidence
A company opening up a new region needs to know where coverage will be thin before reps are even assigned. Instead of guessing at boundaries, Territory Advisor shows what the existing territory model can and can't absorb, so leadership can plan new hires and new territories against real geography and real workload, not a hunch.
Replacing a third-party tool
Some companies are already paying for territory mapping software outside of Repsly. They export data, do their planning in the external tool, and then try to reimport the results. Territory Advisor eliminates that entirely. One platform, one data source, one place to act.
Ready to talk?
If you manage territories at scale and recognize the problem we're describing, we'd love to talk. The goal is simple: make territory planning something you can do with confidence, frequently, and without the overhead that makes most teams avoid it.
