Position Overview

This is a high-ownership role with direct mentorship from finance leadership and a clear path into a senior accounting role. We are looking for an accountant to take full ownership of our Accounts Receivable, billing systems, and revenue workflows.

In this role, you will own our Chargebee billing environment, manage customer billing end to end, own direct customer communications, and conduct balance sheet account reconciliations. You will work closely with finance leadership, offering you a hands-on environment to master revenue recognition and general ledger operations while building a strong foundation for your accounting career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Accounts Receivable: Manage customer invoicing, payment processing, collections, and cash application with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Billing System Ownership (Chargebee): Own our Chargebee environment end to end, including plan and pricing configuration, subscription changes and proration, billing schedules, dunning and failed-payment workflows, and system troubleshooting. You will be the internal authority on how billing is configured and why.
  • Customer Communications: Own external interactions regarding customer billing, payment inquiries, and account updates, delivering exceptional, professional service.
  • Account Reviews & Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for AR, deferred revenue, and related GL accounts. Investigate variances and ensure data integrity.
  • General Accounting Support: Support month-end close activities, assist with audit requests, and partner on ad-hoc finance projects as you grow into broader accounting responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 3+ years of accounting or AR experience, including hands-on work in a SaaS or subscription-billing environment (required, not preferred).
  • Technical Aptitude:
    • Required: hands-on ownership of a subscription billing platform (Chargebee strongly preferred; Stripe Billing, Recurly, or Zuora also relevant). You should be comfortable with configuring plans, proration, billing schedules, and dunning.  You’ll be expected to recommend how systems and processes can be improved and not simply work within a setup someone else built.
    • Hands-on experience with core accounting software (QuickBooks, or similar).
    • Strong Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables,) and an openness to working with AI.
  • Working Style:
    • Self-Directed: Comfortable owning a process end to end, working through ambiguity, and improving how things run without waiting to be asked.
    • Customer-Centric Communicator: Outstanding written and verbal skills; empathetic yet assertive in customer interactions.
    • Detail & Problem Solver: Strong analytical mindset with a passion for reconciling complex numbers and optimizing billing systems.

What We Offer

  • Direct mentorship from accounting leadership to accelerate your professional growth.
  • Clear career development pathway into Senior Accounting roles.
  • Competitive compensation, comprehensive health benefits, 401k match and PTO.
